It has been awhile since I have posted. Many personal things going on. I have to get motivated to get some donations going! I would LOVE some help! Anyone with time,
I am trying to get my blog and site out! I don't see it happening yet, so praying for some action!!! Trying too to get some volunteers to get my mission out there- no luck there either:-(....but won't hold me back! If I have to do it alone, so be it! Amazing how many people think this is a great idea, but so far no takers on helping or donating. What in the heck!!!! But patience, inch by inch!!!!!!
In the past 2 days I have met 2 seperate people who have ties to adult group homes. Both have told me how these clitents can be left behind by family and end up also in need of clothes and things. Going to add them to my list of those to help too!!!!!!
I am getting excited thinking of different ways to get my passion moving!!!! Inch by Inch, I keep telling myself this. Steve Harvey!!!!! You made this passion alive for me!
Our foster care system sucks!!!! It really does! We have some foster parents who have no business being in foster care! We have families that have been split up to live a life of hell who had no reason to have any of that done to them! We have children who do need to be protected left in unsafe enviroments! We have social workers, protective service workers, lawyers, judges and so on who are all overwhelmed or just plain stupid!!! We really need to change this system! In the ENTIRE US!!!!
But the fact remains the same, kids are taken out of their homes, no explanation, and placed somewhere- they have nothing and no one to call their own. It is tragic! I sure hope we can help make some of these kids lives feel a little better for a little while!
I have two children I have adopted out of foster care. My eldest was the fifth cocaine addicted baby born to her birth mother. She has learning disabilities as well as some other challenges that she will carry with her through out her life. As she lives with the legacy given to her by her birth parents, they live free off all and any responsibility for what they did to effect her life. UNFAIR!
My son was number fifteen and there have been more! He was not only exposed to drugs but also alcohol. It is hard to know which has caused him the most damage, but either way- he will live his entire life taken care of by a system that has allowed his birth parents to also life free from all and any responsibility of the hell they created for him!
I don't get this! I never will! There are so many children in our world that have been born from parents who have abused them while growing inside of them. What I really don't get is how are these birth parents, specifically birth mothers, allowed to carry a baby and then deliver this baby addicted to drugs and walk free? How do we send these moms off to treatment over and over? Why if they have broken the law and put a baby in danger and made a life now for that child that will forever be difficult, walk off? WHY are they not taken right to JAIL? They have broken the law! They have not only done the drugs themselves, but even worse, they have put an innocent life in danger, abuse, neglect!!!! Once maybe, give them a chance to get it right- second time, DONE!!!!! Either stay in jail or get your tubes tied! Let them screw their own lives but STOP letting
I saw on Queen Latifa a story of a girl who at age 14 decided to get donations for teens in foster care to have clothes. Wow! What a great idea!!!! I was a foster parent, I know many people think foster parents make lots of money having foster kids, not true! First of all, a foster parent does not even begin to get any money for the first month they have a child. The children come with literally what they have on! They have nothing to call their own! I was lucky with my first foster son for I had all my son's clothes to use. But when I got a foster daughter I had to go out and buy her clothes, underwear and school supplies.
Honestly, it is not the rich and famous going into foster care. Many foster parents are single, or just making it but want to give a child in need a home. After watching this show I decided I could put my Avon to good use and have started a fundraiser to buy clothes for foster kids. Then again watching a show on a woman who started a blog and from that blog now helps feed many families at Thanksgiving, I thought....ummm....I will also start a blog and try to find even more people like me hoping to help kids in foster care and support foster parents. So here I am....one child at a time, one parent at a time, one family at a time. Inch by inch, lets make a change!!
